Becoming a Friend of the Engine Fields

The Friends of the Engine Fields always welcomes new members, whether they they want to be an active members attending working parties or only interested in supporting the Nature Park they enjoy. Even if you don't think you have any skill at conservation you'll be surprised at the skills we can use, for example

  • carpentry - the bird boxes at the park are very dilapidated and need replacing
  • photography - we need some better photographs of the park (it is difficult to take photos when you are the person up to your knees in the stream)
  • fund raising - most of the current Friends are more interested in getting their hands dirty and we could use more money.
  • gardening/wild flowers enthusiasts who would like to adopt an area of woodland and develop it along broad guidelines from the Friends (we already have one such Friend who would be able to give advice)
  • individuals with links to schools who could visit schools in the area to talk about the Engine Fields
  • people who are regular visitors to the park who could monitor wildlife and alert us to anything that needs attention
  • mycologists/entomologists/ornithologists who could monitor the fauna and flora of the park
  • publicity - writing publicity leaflets and articles for the local press

You will find being a member of the Friends a worthwhile experience and you will know that you are supporting the park that has been described as 'The Jewel in Yeadon's Crown'.

Membership is £2.00/year for which you will receive 3 newsletters each year. So why not print and complete a membership form?
