Visiting the Engine Fields

The main entrances [map 1] beside the Old Mill Shop, Miry Lane, off Kirk Lane and [map 2] short way along Parkland View, off Henshaw Lane. The park is open 24 hours a day

When you visit the you could help by following a few simple rules

  • Please take you litter home with you
  • You are welcome to bring your dog but please clear up after him. There is a Dog Loo near the end of the White Pond.
  • You are welcome to feed the birds, preferably with bird seed rather than bread. Please throw it onto the grass near the ponds. Bread that is thrown onto the water can only be eaten by ducks and moorhens and any uneaten rots, contributing to the algae and waterfern that covers the White Pond.
  • If a working party is taking place please keep dogs and young children under control, especially if power tools such as strimmers are in use.

The Friends of the Engine Fields are sponsored by AF McCormack & Son, Paving and Drainage specialists
